On June 20, 1778, a British raiding party looted the farm and mill of William Rogers. The livestock was seized and taken to Mount Holly to supply the British army, and his mill was left in ruins. Now, 250 years later, the remains of Rogers Mill Brook Farm still lie hidden in the woods of Rancocas State Park. The site has been nominated for both state and national historic recognition. Join us to explore the events of that fateful day and uncover the 250 years of history that have made Rogers Mill Brook Farm a treasured part of our local heritage.
This program is presented by Eric Orange, a staff member at the Burlington County Division of Parks, local historian and storyteller who will share his knowledge on our exciting early American history.
