Intro to DJing

5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Riverton Free Library

Description

Do you love music? Have you ever wanted to be a DJ? Are you just curious to know what all those knobs and buttons are that DJs fiddle with? Come learn the basics of DJing at Riverton Library!

In this lesson, we will go over the foundational principles of making a good mix, including phrasing, musical keys, EQing and more. We will also show you different DJing software you can download for free. Bring your own device (ideally a laptop, but a tablet or smartphone will also work) and a pair of headphones. We’ll help you set up the software and music you need to get started making your own mixes.

If that last paragraph scared you, rest assured: If you can count to four, you can DJ. No musical background required!

This program is presented by library staff.
